About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Officer to join a finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial processing, timely reporting and smooth day-to-day operations of the finance function.
Reporting directly to the Financial Accountant, the Accounts Officer is responsible for the administrational overview and coordination of all financial management systems, including accounts payable/receivable management and reporting. This is a broad and unique role with the opportunity to grow with the business, playing an integral role in assisting both the Finance and Operational teams.

Tasks and Duties
 
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies, including coding, data entry and reconciliation of accounts for approval.
  • Processing supplier payment runs and bank uploads.
  • Month-end reporting and reconciliation i.e. bank account, supplier statements and credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Support payroll preparation and related reporting (as required).
  • Providing business administration and general office management support.
  • Respond to internal and external queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant internal controls.
  • Apply and submit trade credit applications for suppliers, consumables and general purchases.
  • Assistance with general asset management information, corporate registers, rolling registers etc.
  • General day-to-day administration, other general accounts duties and adhoc financial analysis.
About You, Your Skills and Experience
 
  • Minimum 2 years bookkeeping/accounts experience required.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Business / TAFE qualifications desirable.
  • Knowledge of business systems, Oracle NetSuite experience highly regarded.
  • Conversant with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule to meet business requirements, when required.
  • Adept at adapting to changes in systems and requirements.
  • The capability of prioritising work priorities as per the demands of the business.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
